The rain didn’t start until after we had started setting up at the Moscow Renaissance Fair (hereafter to only be called Ren Fair because no one can spell Renaissance right the first time). There was sunshine when we were unloading cars, but by the time we were setting things out on tables, it was starting to drizzle. AJ and Jance manned the booth which kept busy despite the rain altering from light to heavy and everywhere in between, We’re going to get two booths next year so we can get more selection out and not have so much line outside the booth.
The Ren Fair is sort of a turning point for us. Last year, we had one table to showcase our wares. Our modest goal was to get at least $300 with our big ambitious goal of $600 so we could buy our first Bambu Labs printer. We pretty much sold out, blowing our goals out of the water, and making us realize this might actually be a legit business. It was our first big sale event and now marks the first of our special events for 2024.
One year later, things look very different for Eva’s 3D Printing. Last year, we had two printers, each a different brand, between the four of us; at this point the business has purchased eight Bambu Labs printers (someday I’ll tell you about why we love our Bambu printers) and have 6 owner-members. With the two printers (again, Bambu Labs) that Jance and Kelly brought with them when they joined, we now operate with 10. We also have business cards, social media pages, and soon a website which were not on the radar last year.
The weather was a lot nicer last year, but even near-constant drizzle didn’t dampen the mood at the Ren Fair. Jance showcased some armor, helmets, and weapons, but the biggest earners were the $5 Friends and Dragons. Gotta love the classics!
We have at least one event per month planned for the summer on top of one Saturday a month at the Small Biz Shoppe in Spokane. Next up is the sprint boat races at Webb’s Slough in St. John on June 15.
